10 Ideas for a Cozy Fall Kitchen

21 October 2022
To make your home feel like fall, you don’t necessarily need to decorate with traditional “fall” décor. Find ways to put practical, multipurpose items on display to make your space feel more inviting. More information about this decorating idea of “every day on display” can be found in my coffee table book, The Inspired Room. In addition to useful items, you can warm up the kitchen with paint colours and design decisions!
- Warm wood details.
Look for wooden bowls, cutting boards, and other accessories.
- Accessorize in colour.
I adore how Susan’s kitchen now has a lovely pop of autumnal colour thanks to these jewel-toned items! For the two-part tour of this stunning beach house, click HERE.
- Wood dining tables and woven baskets.
I adore cosy combinations of woven and rustic elements in kitchens!
- Art.
Real art can be displayed in a kitchen, yes. It feels so much cosier as a result! Additionally, because it is more intimate, it feels warmer.
- Open racking
When it comes to practical and seasonal styling options, open shelving is unbeatable! More ideas for open shelves in the kitchen can be found HERE. To have open shelving in your kitchen without daily staging, click HERE.
- Lamps over the kitchen island.
One of my all-time favourite methods for making a kitchen feel cosy!
- Brass and cabinets in dark green.
You’ll always be more thrilled when fall and winter arrive if you design a kitchen around moodier hues and materials like deep greens and brass.
- Copper and wooden spoons.
My kitchen is white, but I add warmth with copper pots and wooden spoons in a crock.
- A tea or coffee station.
Making a hot cup of tea or coffee on a chilly morning is the cosiest thing ever! If you want to join me for a cup of coffee, I post my morning coffee stories on Instagram.
- Containers and elevators.
Little trays, footed stands, tiered stands, shallow bowls, and baskets always add a touch of cosiness to a room while also serving as storage and serving utensils.
